Red Oak Stairways in West Palm Beach |
Red Oak, the most commonly used species of wood in stair construction, is grown widely in the United States and Canada. This makes for this hardwood to be some of the most durable and affordable wood used in stair construction. Even though the name implies red, this is not always the case. The straight grain, course textured wood is normally in a light reddish tan to a fairly light whitish sapwood. When putting some stains on this material, the pink hues do appear. Red Oak has more grain and more color variance than its sister wood White Oak. |
