Brazilian Cherry Stairways in West Palm Beach |
Jatoba, or more commonly known as Brazilian Cherry, is a very hard oily wood. This species can be found growing in Central and South America and also in the Caribbean. The material does not glue well, so generally stair parts are harder to manufacture in this material. However, due to the flooring industry's wide use of this product, stair treads are available and common. When we manufacture any stair components out of this material, we have to use epoxies when gluing. The levels of oils in this material are very high and normal finishing methods are not suggested. |
