Wood, Metal, Stone Stairways in Sanibel Island |
If your home is located in a coastal community, it may be your desire to have either tile or stone treads. Due to our coastal location, we are well versed in how to incorporate these types of materials. In coastal locations, this type of construction is very common and makes for a very durable staircase. Whether you have a concrete substructure or the need for a wood substructure, Florida Stairworks can provide either the layout for the concrete or a LVL type substructure to make the design of your staircase flow.
Many stone treaded stairs have concrete substructures. Florida Stairworks cannot stress the importance of engaging a stair vendor at the start of construction to assist with the layout of the concrete pour in order to assure that the stone treads, balustrade and railing system work together. In the past, we have seen many concrete sub-stairs that have needed cutting and grinding in order to make the design work, and more importantly, follow building codes. If you make this investment and do the planning, you will more than make up for it with the end product.
Call Florida Stairworks when you start your project so that all jobsite issues can be addressed before there is a concern. |
