Stairway Balisters in Sanibel Island Florida

Stairway Balisters in Sanibel Island

A stairway baluster or spindle can be made of many different types of materials. When you think of a baluster or spindle, the most common thought that comes to mind are narrow, slender turnings as seen in the picture. Florida Stairworks has used balusters as small as 1 inch and as large as 4 inches turned. Species of wood balusters can either be a paint grade material or made of stain grade material to match the species used in the balance of the stair.

Florida Stairworks also utilizes many styles of metal balusters. When choosing a baluster, the style you are trying to achieve is very important. The balusters are the largest quantity item that your guests will see when viewing the staircase. Balusters sometimes have a complimentary newel post that helps to continue the staircase theme, although nice to have this option, it is not necessary.
