Mahogany Stairways in Sanibel Island Florida

Mahogany Stairways in Sanibel Island

Mahogany wood species is one of the many import products that we use. This is grown anywhere from Central and South America and the Caribbean, with certain species coming from Africa. When specifying the desire to use Mahogany, you must be specific as to the type. Wood characteristics, pricing and availability vary widely with each type of Mahogany. Some of the more common Mahoganies used are Philippine, Honduras, Genuine, Sapele and African. The most common of these is the Genuine Mahogany. Some of the Mahoganies, like the Genuine, are softer in nature, so at times are not the best choice for treads that will not have a carpet runner. The African and Sapele Mahogany are of harder nature and hold up well for treads.
